Todays stage 19 begins at the base of Alpe d'Huez. It will be another tough day with two beyond category climbs, the first up the "easy side" to Col du Glandon, the second 10km later up Col du Madeleine. This stage will bring into focus the polka-dot climbers jersey with plenty of points up for grabs. Froome leads this competition, followed by Nairo Quintana and Christophe Riblon. Riblon will wear the polka-dot jersey today as Froome remains in yellow, and Quintana is wearing the white of the tours best young rider. Moreno Moser and Pierre Roland will have to be aggressive if they want to overtake the leaders for the climbers jersey
See comments for pre-stage 19 photos in Bourg d'Oisans. A few of our group went into town to get some autographs and up-close photos.
Photo: Christophe Riblon approaching Dutch corner (7) 45 seconds behind Tejay van Garderen on the final climb up Alpe d'Huez in stage 18. This photo was taken shortly before Riblon captured van Garderen. He overtook van Garderen with little more than a mile to go to take the stage by nearly a minute. van Garderen led the race for most of the day, just not when it counted most.
